Frequently asked questions
Which exam boards and grades are supported?+
UK: KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level across AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC/Eduqas and Cambridge (CIE). South Africa: NSC Grades 7–12 and IEB Grade 7. Zimbabwe: ZIMSEC O-Level and A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Combined Science.
Do I need a card for the free trial?+
No card needed to start your free trial — just sign up and you’re in. If you decide to upgrade to a paid plan, you’ll add your payment details at that point. The Free plan (1 quiz per day) never asks for a card either.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel any time from Account → Billing. You keep access until the end of your current billing period.
How does the Family Plan work?+
One subscription covers up to 5 learners plus a parent dashboard with progress tracking and a family leaderboard.
What currencies can I pay in?+
GBP, ZAR and USD — auto-detected from your country. Payments are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record, so VAT and local taxes are added at checkout where required.
What is Exam mode?+
Exam mode is a full timed practice paper: 20 adaptive questions that get harder or easier based on your answers, a 25-minute countdown with warnings at 5 and 1 minute, question flagging and a jump-to palette. It auto-submits when time runs out and gives you a GCSE 1–9 grade at the end, plus a full review with YouTube recap videos for anything you got wrong.
How long is Exam mode?+
You have 25 minutes to answer 20 questions. The timer is visible throughout the exam, so you always know how much time is left.
What happens when time runs out?+
The exam is submitted automatically. Any questions you have already answered are saved, and the exam finishes even if you have not reached the last question. You then see your GCSE 1–9 grade and a full answer review.
Can I flag questions during the exam?+
Yes. Tap the flag icon on any question to mark it for review. Flagged questions are highlighted in the question palette, so you can jump back to them before time runs out.
How does the adaptive difficulty work?+
Exam mode watches how you answer. Get questions right and the next ones become harder; get them wrong and the questions become easier. This keeps the exam at the right level for you and improves the final grade estimate.
What grade does Exam mode give?+
You receive a GCSE 1–9 grade at the end of the exam. Higher-tier exams can score 1–9; foundation-tier exams are capped at a maximum grade 5, just like real GCSE papers.
Can I retake an exam to improve my grade?+
Yes. You can start a new Exam mode paper at any time. Each exam picks a fresh set of questions, so retaking helps you practice the whole syllabus rather than memorising the same paper.
